Like several of their other colleagues, it has been a steady rise to stardom for the duo of Peter & Paul popularly known as P-Square. The talented twin brothers made up their minds to pursue a career in music despite its uncertainties at the early stages. Through diligence and hard work, they have become a force in the Nigeria entertainment industry as the highest paid Nigerian ‘group’ artiste. Within Nigeria, P-Square charges N10 Million as performance fee. Outside Nigeria, they charges $150,000. Some of their investments include a house in Jos, bakery and the mansion they currently reside in Lagos. Work is also on-going on another twin duplex they are building in Ikoyi, Lagos which will serve as their new residence when completed. P-Square is a Globacom ambassador.
Dapo Oyabanjo, a.k.a D’Banj is not your regular artiste. He might not be the best vocalist but he is one of the best entertainers you can get around here. D’Banj has remained an A-List act since 2009 and he is the highest paid ‘single’ artiste in Nigeria. He currently charges N8 Million naira for performance in Nigeria and $100,000 outside Nigeria. He was once an ambassador of Globacom and later headlined rival brand, MTN concert. He is the face of Henessy Artistry 2013.
Multi platinum award winning super star, Innocent ‘2Face’ Idibia is unarguably the most admirable Nigerian artiste. His humility is second to none in the music industry especially when compared to other acts in his class. At some point in the industry, 2Face was the highest paid Nigerian hip hop act and he inspired majority of currently reigning Nigerian hip hop acts. 2Face currently charges N7 million as his performance fee in Nigeria and $60,000 outside Nigeria. His contract with Airtel as an ambassador recently expired.
Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has inspired lots of teenagers who have great passion for the entertainment industry. Today, Wizkid charges N6 Million as his performance fee in Nigeria and $50,000 outside the country. He lives in the posh area of Lagos and drives exotic cars including a Porsche Panorama. KING SUNNY ADE
Prince Sunday Adeniyi popularly known as King Sunny Ade is a veteran Juju artiste and a father to many of today’s new artistes. Some of us grew up listening to his music and more than 30 years after, he is still very relevant. Sunny Ade’s performance fee is not stable because most times it depends on when the event is taking place and the grade of the event. On the average, he charges between N3Million and N5 Million. Most times, he ends up making twice of his performance fee on stage. In their normal tradition, he eulogized important dignitaries at the event and they in return spray him money.
Davido is another young Nigerian artiste that influenced lots of youths. His rich background which is an added advantage quickly helped him to attain prominence. Just like Sunny Ade, he too doesn’t have a fixed performance fee. Lots of factors are also considered before a figure is agreed but on the average, it’s between N2 million and N4 million. He might also end up making twice of his performance fee during his performance.
Wasiu Ayinde, a.k.a K1 De Ultimate is a popular Fuji artiste in Nigeria and he is arguably the highest paid in his genre. What he charges at political events varies from what he charges at social events. It also most times depends on the personality of the person involved. K1 charges between N1.5 million and N5 million for his performance fee. He is one of the artistes that make lots of money on stage eulogizing important dignitaries.
