Highlife singer and YBNL act, Adekunle Gold speaks on the controversial hit single from his Gold album titled “Ariwo Ko”
Though the lyrics of the song suggest that Adekunle Gold was referring to some artistes or group of artistes for making loud music, the singer has cleared the air saying that he was not calling out anyone as many have thought.
Adekunle was elated that the Gold album has been doing well in entertainment charts across the country saying that he gave his best to the album as he has been working on it for two years and was really happy to see it succeed.
“I expected success, but what I didn’t expect was a huge outpouring of love and it’s been amazing, ever since I dropped the album, it’s been love all the way, I’ve travelled out of the country and the reception has been equally amazing,” Adekunle says.
Adekunle Gold also spoke about being named the executive producer for his album when the title is usually attributed to the label owner, which should have been Olamide.
“For my album “Gold”, I pretty much wrote the music myself. During production, I was the one telling the producer which direction I wanted everything to go. Olamide really entrusted everything to me, and was always there to remind me that he knows I can do it. He’d say “Just see it as your business, I’m only here to guide you.” So based on all this, it really just made sense to put me as the executive producer. And of course, I got the approval from my oga (Olamide).”
The singer recently released the video for single ‘Friend zone’ off the albumand everyone seems to like it.
