Warner Bros To Produce a Willy Wonka Prequel

Warner Bros is said to have acquired the rights to the “Willy Wonka” IP from the Roald Dahl Estate and is planning a new movie centred on the eccentric character.
There was a 1971 British-American musical fantasy film surrounding the same plot in which Gene Wilder played Wonka in the adaptation of the 1964 novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,”
This prequel will be a standalone film that will be focused on the life of Willy Wonka and his early adventures,” the movie will be produced by David Heyman and Michael Siegel, and scripted by Simon Rich.
The original Wonka, Gene Wilder died on August 29, 2016.
A reboot of the Willy Wonka film was also made in 2005, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp as Wonka.
The movie tells the story of Charlie Bucket as he receives a Golden Ticket and visits Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.
There has been no report on cast of the upcoming prequel.
